It's the most wonderful time Of the Year?
Every November, specifically the week after Halloween, our practice takes on a very different feel. The days are getting darker and shorter. The spirit of Halloween is taking it's toll and people are tired and strung-out from candy. It's report card time for teachers. Office workers are commuting in the dark. Retail workers begin ramping up for the holiday season. Stress, fatigue, frustration abound, and with that comes increased sensitivity to pain.
This post is to let you know that you aren't alone in having "November-itis"! I've included a list of my common suggestions to patients on how to beat Seasonal Affective Disorder.

This week, I made all the right mistakes, the perfect storm to develop mechanical low back pain. Here's the events that led to my inevitable sore back!
"The next thing I knew..." I was bending over to tie my shoe before a run and my low back seized. I felt pain from my spine all the way to my Sacro-Iliac joints, and even down the sides of my legs. I felt the exact same as most patients that come into my office. I have had trouble sitting for a few days, bending is uncomfortable, and running is out of the question.
